During lockdown, I also hosted ‘Shelf Isolation’ on BBC Scotland and iPlayer with guests including Alan Cumming, Lorraine Kelly and Denise Mina.
It was filmed entirely at home under covid-safe conditions and really hit a much-needed cosy note. It was shortlisted for as Creativity in Crisis Award at the 2019 Edinburgh Tv Festival for ‘ amazing content which is emerging at such a moment of crisis; stand out programming that has defied the odds and showcased creative brilliance.’
In October 2019, I JOINED ANDI OLIVER on Sky Arts AS co-host FOR the first ever LIVE coverage of the Cheltenham Literature Festival! We broadcast live for two hours every night for two weeks of the festival.
We WERE joined by Miquita Oliver and Simon Savidge.
As well as co-hosting with Andi in the studio I presented the Book Banquet, in which prominent writers recommended a range of books, and I diagnosed the reading habits of a variety of festival guests as the Book Doctor.
In 2021, i presented a landmark documentary about Sir Walter Scott which reconsidered the man, his work and his world in his 250th year.
