As well as hosting live events, I often pop up on the radio and sometimes I manage to squeeze my 6'4" self onto your telly too.

I'm bringing books back to TV! From Autumn 2019, I'll be hosting a new Salon-inspired show called The Big Scottish Book Club on BBC Scotland and it will go direct to iPlayer so everyone can watch. Each week I meet a trio of acclaimed writers. Each episode will be filmed as live and performed in front of an audience - you could be there! The Big Scottish Book Club shines a spotlight on Scottish Writers and celebrates books and writers from all around the world.

Sometimes you’re chopping onions and my voice appears in your kitchen. I frequently guest on Radio 4 and occasionally host Front Row - Dolly Parton, Javier Marías and Brad Pitt are among my favourite interviewees.  In 2016 I hosted my first half-hour doc on BBC One revealing The Writers of Rye (the joy of Mapp & Lucia!).

My Literary Salon is on iTunes and British Airways so do order a G&T and listen in.
